Animal Energy Medicine
Energy Medicine is as beneficial to animals as it is to people. Reiki and Healing Touch are the energy modalities that support the energetic balance and harmony of the living system. These modalities use techniques which find and clear diseases in the body and allow for re-balancing and reestablishing the normal energy flow that the body needs to be healthy.
Energy Medicine is wonderful for animals as it is non invasive and gentle and it requires no physical contact. In fact most animals prefer hands off treatments as it allows them the feeling of ample space to feel safe and comfortable. Animals prefer to be in control of their session and feel like they can move freely in and out of the supportive energy field. Long Distance sessions are also an option for animals that are far away or not easy to get to. Reiki / Healing Touch sessions are beneficial for reducing stress, pain and discomfort and animals love it! It can be used to heal an injury or to just maintain good health. It may also be used to create a calmer space for the animal to live in whether that is at home or out in the wild.
It can be administered on healthy animals for maintenance, relaxation and to promote well mannered behavior.
For animals that are not feeling well or that have physical ailments, energy medicine helps boost the immune system and provide a peaceful heart space where they can relax and let their system rejuvenate itself. It can be used in situations of broken limbs, open or closed wounds, dis-eases of the body (such as cancer, asthma, allergies), pre and post surgery support, times of stress and fear (such as a storm or prolonged absence of caretaker) and to reduce and calm treatment side effects, such as chemotherapy.
For dying animals, Reiki / Healing Touch sessions are a powerful yet gentle way to provide comfort, relief from pain, fear, and anxiety, and to ease the transition to death.
Besides the comfort to the animal Energy Medicine is also a gentle way to support a dying animal's family.

Animal chakra centers are very similar to that of human’s, however animals have eight major chakras instead of seven. Since this is a recent addition to our biofield knowledge it is not very widely used yet. Read on for more information on the eighth chakra.
Chakra
Animals have eight Major Chakras.
Chakras are wheel-like vortices which are present in the auric body or biofield of living beings. Chakras are the "energy centers" or whirls of energy that emerge from the center of the physical body, back and front, in a cone shape that opens up as it moves outward into space. A chakra generates and stores energy, and its path runs along the spinal column and all chakras interchange energy with each other. This wheel of energy receives, assimilates and sends out life force energy. While in a human the chakras are stacked along the spine, in animals they have a different layout. Take a look at the pictures below to see how they appear on an dog, cat or horse.
It is called the Brachial or Key chakra (discovered by animal healer, Margrit Coates).
The eighth chakra center, called the Brachial chakra is located between the shoulders on the back. This chakra is like the master center in an animals body and it is the one that connects all of the other major chakra centers together.
It is the center which relates to animal-human interaction and any healing should always begin at this chakra. Animals which have a strong, healthy link with their human companions usually have a vibrant Brachial chakra, as it is the center where the animal-human bond is formed and carried.
If the Brachial chakra is not open or activated the animal will likely be reactive to the session instead of relaxed and receptive. Sometimes when an animal has behavioral and/or bonding issues, this is a clear sign that this chakra may be blocked and unbalanced.
The Bud chakras are found one on each foot (pad, paw, hoof, etc) and one on the skin at the base opening of each ear.
They are especially receptive to subtle energy vibrations; for example changes in the weather like a thunderstorm, or even impending, major earth events like an earthquake or hurricane.
Location: one on the base of each foot (two in birds) and one at the base of each ear - under the flap, just at the opening
Function: senses, subtle energy receptors

Minor chakras: In addition to the 7 major chakras, there are a number of other chakras which have importance within different systems.
Alongside the seven Major chakras that animals share with humans (Crown, Third Eye, Throat, Heart, Solar Plexus, Sacral and Root), there is another Major chakra which is unique to animals. It is called the Brachial or Key chakra (discovered by animal healer, Margrit Coates).
